Carrum juniors head to Geelong for the School Sports Victoria and Head of the Schoolgirls regattas

Published Sun 19 Mar 2017

Our junior Frankston High School rowers had one of their most successful ever School Sports Victoria regattas on Thursday with seven A-final appearances, including a 1st, 2nd and three 3rd placings!

A massive congratulations to our legendary junior boys Daniel and Jackie who took out the Year 9 Male Division One Double Scull event!

Our other results included the Year 9 boys single: 2nd place to Daniel and 3rd to Jackie; Open Schoolboys single 3rd to Adrian and 4th to Elliott; Open Schoolboys double 4th to Adrian and Elliott and Year 9 boys quad 3rd to Daniel, Matthew, Michael and Thomas, coxed by Virginia. We also had B final wins to Serena in the Year 10 girls single and also the Year 9 girls quad of Matilda, Ella, Alexandra and Jalina, coxed by Virginia. This was the first ever regatta for some of our younger members and with promising results we can't wait to see what next year brings!

All the single [scull] ladies! The next big challenge was the massive Head of the Schoolgirls regatta (the biggest in the southern hemisphere) for Serena and Asha who progressed to the C-final stage in the FSCH1XY101 and FSCH1XO1 respectively over the weekend. Both girls had some great rows across the three days as they progressed through the challenging division one category and we can't wait to see how far they can get next year! Great work ladies, we are super proud of you!
