Attention, Go! 2016/17 Season kicks off at Saltwater

Published Sat 03 Sep 2016

The start of the season is here, so we took our new boat trailer all the way to Essendon for the 15th Annual Saltwater Challenge Regatta.

The sun decided not to join our crews for the morning session, with Geoff staying warm by testing out the comfort of the new trailer. Geoff was an absolute superstar on the day, despite suffering from a man cold he towed the trailer and raced with the men's masters quad (with Dave, David and Walter) who all had a terrific race - especially managing the winding course without a cox!

Our women's masters quad was next, with the combination of Fiona, Mishelle, Helen and Mary being masterfully steered and directed down the course by Lynne, they took away third place in their event.

The final bracket for the day saw our women's C grade quad of Jacqui, Lisa, Erin and Emma, coxed by Angelique, row superbly (despite Angelique calling 1500m to go instead of 500... oops!) and managed to take out the event! Well done, I'm sure they will wear their winning t-shirts with pride all season.

A big thank you to Essendon Rowing Club for once again hosting a great event!
